West Coast Martial Arts Academy strives to create a positive learning experience for all ages. We started our martial arts school on the border of Rancho Bernardo in the 4S Ranch business park in 2007. Since then, our martial arts school has always been growing. Although we teach some traditional martial arts like Karate, we are not afraid to adapt to change. Still, we will never compromise our integrity or quality. For that reason, we inspire all West Coast Martial Arts Academy students to strive to be their best!
With that in mind, we are committed to providing a safe and friendly martial arts training environment. Most importantly, we want a place where all ages and all levels can experience the life changing benefits of Martial Arts. It doesn’t matter if your kids are 4 years old or if you’ve lived in 4S Ranch since the beginning and want to train, we feel like martial arts can help you!
West Coast Martial Arts Academy’s instructors have years of training experience and all grew up in 4S Ranch or Rancho Bernardo. We don’t just throw anyone on the mat to teach. We have an instructor training course to create leaders on and off the mat. Because of this, they are well-equipped to teach students in private and group classes.
Our martial arts school in 4S Ranch is superior to any other facility. Our facility is 5,000 square feet. Furthermore, our training mats are the best that money can buy. Because of this, you will never feel cramped or stuck when practicing in class.
Have you ever heard of Kajukenbo? It was America’s first mixed martial art. Kajukenbo combines several fighting arts. First, our main striking arts are karate, kenpo, and boxing. Second, for throws, we have Judo and Chin Na. Lastly, we teach standing Jiu-Jitsu for control techniques. Unlike learning martial arts in 4S Ranch today kajukenbo was practiced by ex-military, police officers, and people who wanted to make sure their self defense movers worked in real life. It all started on the main island in Hawaii. Adriano Emperado founded it in 1947. Today, it has become one of the most popular forms of self-defense practiced in the world today.
The art of Kajukenbo is constantly evolving. We have incorporated techniques from Erik Paulson’s Combat Submission Wrestling and STX program. In short, we continue to evolve our fighting system. That’s what makes our 4S Ranch martial arts program the best!
